It's strange. The game does nothing to make her relatable or interesting or fun. Dave the giant is all those things. And then she (implied) kills him, and the audience is supposed to cheer her on and be on her side. Why? It's clearly Jack and the Beanstalk - but it leans into the issue that many observe with Jack. He's a thief, not a hero. And Dave opens by mocking the idea of heroes, in an interesting and relatable way. In 1:48 when she talks to the viewer suddenly, it is jaring, and totally unearned.
Agreed. My initial excitement was severely dialed down when I realized the character had not been shrunk, and that it was in fact based on the Beanstalk (which is obvious, now that I look at it). A proper size-changing quest in a AAA game would be a dream come true, I guess we'll have to wait. I'll say the size-difference is looking good, if what we've seen is truly "gameplay" and not just pre-rendered. Also I do remember there was a quest in Fable 3 where
the hero was shrunk for a pseudo-game of D&D.

Unrelated, there is also this moment here, where they seem to be the same size
Uh. That's weird - nice catch!
