Well you can't delete an account on your own.
A PM to do it for you would work.

Also if it is just that you don't like your name to show up, you should be able to rename your own account
(unless that functionality broke again)

And the board shouldn't bother you with annoying mails as that functionality had to be killed to prevent spammers from abusing it.

So rename and forget is a tactic that should be good enough for at least the lurkers.
