FANCASTING FOR LAND OF THE GIANTS REBOOT
"THE CO-PILOT/THE FIRST OFFICER"
DAN ERICKSON
(Feminine versions are Dani, Danielle, Dana, Danalyn)
32-34 yrs old
The candidate, like her boss, should fill out a body/flight suit, be younger than her boss or at most the same age, and (for consistency sake) African-American/British, etc. The original Dan was also an Olympic athlete before suffering an injury, so the actress should also be especially in shape.
JADE ANOUKA
Aged 31
British Shakespearian actress.
Plays a "badass" witch queen in the series
His Dark Materials.
NICOLE BEHARIE
Aged 35
Starred in the supernatural series
Sleepy Hollow as a police officer and elite FBI applicant. Also, the chemistry between Nicole and co-star Tom Mison was remarkable, so she can relate to an audience.
ROSARIO DAWSON
Aged 41
Has starred in various Marvel Comics movies, and is currently kicking serious ass as Ahsoka Tano on
Star Wars: The Mandalorian, with her own series to come (hopefully).
MEAGAN GOOD
Aged 39
Starred as a sci-fi detective in the
Minority Report TV series, and currently stars as one of the Captain Marvel family heroes in the
Shazam! movie series.
LYNDIE GREENWOOD
Aged 37
Starred as an assassin in the CW series
Nikita, the sister of Nicole Beharie's character in
Sleepy Hollow, and a biologist in the series
The Expanse. Off screen, Lyndie is an avid runner.
ZOE SALDANA
Aged 42
The big name on this list, Zoe has starred in some of the highest grossing films of all time. She played Uhura in the reboot
Star Trek movies, the
Avatar movie series under CG "make-up", and the Marvel Comics movie universe as part of
The Guardians of the Galaxy. She has a background in dance and ballet, and also stayed in shape dodging lens flares on the set of
Star Trek.
And that is that! Zoe is probably too big a name and may be worn out for sci-fi/fantasy. Rosario is similar -- she will hopefully be too busy doing
Star Wars projects. If I had to choose, either of the
Sleepy Hollow sisters would be ideal -- which one would depend on who is cast as
The Spindrift's pilot.
But now it's your turn -- who takes it? Whose cuisine reigns supreme? Or who else should be on the list?
