Actually that was the Star Wars line I thought the first pic was from that sent me down a action figure rabbit hole. When I discovered the other one was from a newer line I checked on that one to present as a I was still wrong example. Only to learn that line started in 1997, about six years after Hasbro bought Kenner.

There is a custom shop called Stan Solo that makes a vintage style version that looks very much like it had been made by Kenner.

Still I guess any (or all) of those could be added to the cupboard.

How about this one? Kenner is printed on the cardboard under the plastic.

Its funny that Kenner never gave us a Slave Leia figure. I wonder, did some there have knowledge of magic cupboards?

There were at least two of them put out.
It is labelled Kenner. But it is actually Hasbro. They bought Kenner in 1991 and often use the Kenner labeling to trigger nostalgia.

I think he gets a little Princess Leia. I mean Vader became Vader including a light saber. And depending on the figure it likely be more enjoyable to have a miniature Leia then a tiny Carrie Fisher forced to go Cocaine withdrawal.

In the books there is a tiny maid character. There was an illustration, I recall, of her sitting on a spool of thread and I think that was the moment I knew tall girls were not for me, lol.

I always wondered about that. I haven't seen the movie or anything but I always wondered if the Indian is an actual Indian or he's just really the toy come to life. Seeing the Darth Vader scene in the trailer made me think that.

Seeing as Vader is a character from a movie and the cupboard can't transport the "real" Vader from anywhere, he's got to be the toy come to life. So is the Indian just the toy come to life, or is he a real Indian that the cupboard transported?
He's a real Indian, snatched from his life in another time and transported to the cupboard and in the size of the toy Indian the boy put in the cupboard. He's finally returned to his real life at the end.

Here's a few I tried to make from stills from the movie.

It is a great concept to base a story on. Better if you can kind of pick which woman the doll will turn into but even random is still good. Using different sizes of dolls could make it more interesting. Have some 11 inch barbie girls, some 5 inch knock offs and the poor little polly pocket women. To them the other shrunken women are giants and a regular human is practically a titan.

If I had the cupboard I wouldn't have had a female action figure left when I was that kid's age. Especially if I had one like that. But I was a strange little boy.

Yeah there was some SW in the book series, sadly none of them were made into movies. But then again, some scenes aren't exactly G-rated, like in one of the books the boy and his father both end up tiny and naked in the Indian's timeline...

Image

That whole chapter is weird AF, sometimes I can't help but wonder if the author has a fetish or not, probably some sort of confirmation bias on my part (wish it was SW, of course) :

I always thought the same thing. The boy's friend did put a Darth Vadar figure in the cupboard, but I guess the boy didn't have any Princess Leia figures. Would he get a tiny Carrie Fisher since there was never an actual Princess Leia?

Oh, I remembered I had this image. I didn't make this. I'd love to say who did but I'm horrible and never note who makes the images I download so if this is yours take full credit. But I thought ILikeCake might like it.

A little Barbie in a cabinet maybe?
A Polly in a chest perhaps?
I know there was a story on the old VSW site about boys putting Barbies in a trunk or something and them becoming women they knew. But yeah I'm surprised there isn't more put doll in container get tiny woman stories. That is what I would have done as a lad with a magic cupboard. Clearly that movie didn't influence the SW community as much as say Gulliver's Travels, Land of the Giants, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids did.

HH1
Side note: I still haven't seen Land of the Giants. Can't seem to find a good version of it online.
