Alberto Vargas - “Beauty and the Beast” 1925 - The beautiful model is Fay Wray, the female Canadian actress who played the female in the original version of King Kong in 1933. Wray starred in a great number of movies and finished her acting days in the 1980s, long before her death in 2004. Even though the painting is dated 1925 by Vargas, he was known to date his artwork to an earlier time than actually painted. Most likely this was done around the time of the movie which made her so popular.
