Also, that can't be right, cause almost half of Pixiv is full of AI Art. Must be that new TOS update or something going that only affects here and UK. It's weird.

I don't think it's that vague - Pixiv considers AI being "stolen without permission" and "detrimental to the original artist", because it was trained on copyrighted material and the rights owners don't get some sort of compensation. It's only half-true in the sense that the AI didn't actually "steal" (ie. it doesn't copy actual pixel data) but learned to reproduce as human artists do when first learning, but since it's a machine it can do so on a large scale.

I'm all for opt-in for dataset training, and proper royalties being paid when doing so. Just don't give corporations ideas about making human artists pay to "learn" from other artists, or some other dystopian bullshit.

Nah, it's not that kind. From what I understand they're not openly fascist, but tolerate 4chan-like behavior and antisemitic stuff on their Discord server. This info comes from people that know him way better than I do, for far longer. A real shame because I really love their art. I can give you more info privately in DMs if you wish.

Oh I was just thinking out loud - there's no such register or system to ascertain the origin of training material for a given AI model. The EU have plans to enact such laws but nothing concrete so far. Reading pixiv's TOS, it seems AI is indeed allowed but they require you to flag it as such. I'm not on Pixiv but I guess it's like on DA where you have to declare your gens.
