This board has a dice plugin.
The BB code for dice goes around what you want to roll like: 3d8

Elana rolled 3d8 and got a total of 12:

Maximum allowed number of dice is 20 and you can add modifiers like 3d6+5

How a dice roll looks in your post can be modified in the user setting.
(User Control Panel->board preferencess->dice game)
Default is text, but other styles look more fancy

Also i the text or pictures do have a tool tip when you hover with the mouse over it, so you can distinguish between real rolls and (cheap) cheat attempts

My old I See Dice game will STILL need some modifications to play here. I'd like to simplify it for starters - we gradually added rules and it eventually got quite complex. Or I could make up some different game?

While it was primarily concerned with shrinking, there was BE and TG thrown in as well. Would that be a problem here?

You don't want to use dice=
It is just one of the substitutes the plugin uses internal to make sure it gets the real roll back from the database.
Unfortunately the code is not smart enough to only offer humans the options humans are supposed to use by hand.

At least that is what I think.

Unfortunately the plugin is undocumented and unsupported

Okay, I did some research

the dice= function is broken and will display nothing if you use it correctly.
But if it would work
usage would be something like

(dice=total)3d6(/dice=)

(imagine the paranthesis would be brackets...for some reason it still parses bb code within code blocks)

and then display the total of the roll...which I already put as default, which makes it double useless

But knowing that it currently does really nothing might encourage me to change the code to get some use out of it
(As the button insists on not being disabled)

This thread isn't a game..it is just something where I tried to explain the function..and that somehow ended up for some tests instead of doing those in the test board
