No music thread? That's nonsense, let's fix that right now.

Shrink rays, shrink potions...these are archaic toys for cavemen. The real future is in breaking the very genetic fabric of yourself to something entirely new.

Drinkin' deep from the plasma pool since about two months ago.

Reminds me of Kraftwerk somehow.

Of course. If music be the food of radical separatist feminism, play on!

I regret loss of any recordings of my punk band 'Thick Anal Slime' and new romantic 'Collapsing Chinese Dynasties' wherein I was keyboardist on both occasions, although I do have some recordings of modern serialist classical music wot I wrote.

I came here to open a thread for non-English songs, poems and sayings. So, bye for now!

The piece I am enjoying most at the moment celebrates the Roma part of my heritage. Like Jewish music it often starts with tragedy and ends in a party.

I'm putting this here because I'm listening to it at the mo. Iranian love songs are so passionate and the lyrics are lovely. This clip features Oh with her dog coming down the stairs. We get to see a part of NJ life few get to see.

https://lyricstranslate.com/en/komakam- ... z5BjGqgn2g

Help Me
Help me , help me , dont leave me here so I will decay
help me help me , dont leave me here do i will kiss the death lips
help me , help me , hated love takes courage
the fish in the old lake needs a fresh sea weather
my heart is that sea
which is with every drop of its water is singing
in my vessels are its red poem instead of blood
I won't stay. If I stay I will die.
I am in love like a passenger who love to go to the end on journey
I am in love with the saint of immigration in loneliness of roads in mornings.
I am full of passions of going , going and arriving and getting fresh
in a cold gray early morning metamorphosis to famous love

Help me , help me , dont let this lost person perish
help me , help me , my lethargy harvest needs fire
help me , help me , me and you must see tomorrow
the lake is small for us , we should reach to the sea
our heart belongs to sea , the lake is our prison
every drop of water are singing for us
in our vessels is red poems of going
help me, it is time to be free

More Iranian passion. Features more average Jersey days including the food shop.

https://lyricstranslate.com/en/shabe-sh ... z5BjMH7dfC

glass night
we need each other
like a madman needs sleep
like the wheat needs the earth
like the salt-marsh needs water
we need each other
we need each other

we need each other
like humans need other human beings
like the fish need water
like a man needs the air
we need each other
we need each other

if ever our hands fall apart (we are separated)
nothing will ever break the glassy night (the darkness will never end)
the only thing rising out of the everlasting night of glass
will be sun made out of cardboard
to mourn for our separation
all the alleys will be silenced and mute
the smell of lethargy will fill out the space
all the doors will only open to strange places
all our roads that used to end up to the sun
will only be a never ending darkness

I like this Roma song as much for the picture as the song. My grandmother was white while my great aunt, her sister, looked as if she came from India even though it was obvious they were sisters.

https://lyricstranslate.com/en/la-romnj ... z5BjQ7bWEV

The Gypsy Girl for Me to Marry

Oh Gypsy men, oh Gypsy boys
(Sing the line three times)

The Gypsy girl for me to marry
I see her in dreams
I don't sleep at night
Say thou, oh God!
What I should do!
(Sing one more time)

Refrain

I am a Gypsy boy, a young Gypsy boy
I am, dear God, alone,
I have not, oh my God, a dear Gypsy wife
My heart is already bitter.
(Sing one more time)

There's some interesting and diverse sounding toons above, which kind of reflects what a diverse (and sometimes interesting) bunch we are!

My choice is this grand old lad from the south, who I was priviledged to listen to as a captive audience on my Dad's car stereo (when I was a youngster).

I don't think gays and lesbians were in the news much then, and folks were more interested in listening to good ole rock 'n roll.

Take it away Chuck!

Pussy Riot - what heroines!! makes me want to re-up (excuse the expression) my My Vagina series. The Alina video reminded me of this from a time I was still clubbing (OMG time passing,etc..)

Why listen to Status Quo when you can listen to the real thing? Anyway roll over, Chuck Berry ;)

To all people with crazy ideas (I guess that makes the entire SW community), bless you Kate Bush. The story of Wilhelm Reich still makes me cry.

I like this because it reminds me of the controlled manic phase in Bipolar Disorder - manic but still on top of things - or so you think.....

I feel like some bird of paradise - like a gypsy landslide

She (PJ Harvey) is less than 1.5 metres tall, yet she holds the audience like a giantess.

I may be a visual artist, but music from most genres is my life, In fact, I tend to create musical structures in my serious work. Will explain at some point in my non SW art thread

Antonín Dvořák - Rusalka, Op.114, B. 203, Act 1. O Silver Moon
Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra

Mesiku na nebi hlubokem
Svetlo tve daleko vidi,
Po svete bloudis sirokem,
Divas se v pribytky lidi.
Mesicku, postuj chvili
reckni mi, kde je muj mily
Rekni mu, stribmy mesicku,
me ze jej objima rame,
aby si alespon chvilicku
vzpomenul ve sneni na mne.
Zasvet mu do daleka,
rekni mu, rekni m kdo tu nan ceka!
O mneli duse lidska sni,
at'se tou vzpominkou vzbudi!
Mesicku, nezhasni, nezhasni!

Moon, high and deep in the sky
Your light sees far,
You travel around the wide world,
and see into people's homes.
Moon, stand still a while
and tell me where is my dear.
Tell him, silvery moon,
that I am embracing him.
For at least momentarily
let him recall of dreaming of me.
Illuminate him far away,
and tell him, tell him who is waiting for him!
If his human soul is in fact dreaming of me,
may the memory awaken him!
Moonlight, don't disappear, disappear!

Painting - The Water Nymph, 1908

Sorry to hog the thread, but music is the reason for my existence and I am compelled to at least try and share.

This is a song from an artist that YouTube kept nagging me to listen to. I'm so glad I did. I guess it was obvious that I was a romantic. So much of which sings about it are central to my beliefs about life, love, our place in the universe and how our lives fit together.

This is true eroticism for me. The faintest of touches, glances, two souls in harmonic union.

This next one is about how love transcends our immediate notions of time. I do believe that we live over and over again each time getting closer to cosmic union.

You've got to say this is magnificent

Era Oscura

Post by chesya » Tue May 08, 2018 6:53 pm

It was dark like midnight
When the moon rises and sheds its light
Everything was silent, everything was silent
As the darkest dark.

Misery, why are you coming now?
To remind me of what I went through?
To remind me of all my life?
These words I say to him.

That is a beautiful song 8urst,

I guess I should give suggestion of my own. :D

I just love Indila's voice, she has such a intense way of singing. My two favorite songs from her are: Love Story and Dernière Danse (last dance)
