Spammers. Is it malware to take us down!?

I'm a mod at the process, but lately, I feel like just the maid cleaning up after all the spamsters.

And I don't see as many maid/mods active lately.

I wonder if the spammers got them with malware or something.

Oh well.

Sounds like the process needs more automatic help.
This week I had to delete a total of 3 spam posts.
But the moderation log has about 7 pages of post attempts that were blocked as the wannabe spammer was "Found in the Stop Forum Spam database”"

The "stop forum spam" extension for phpBB seems to be very efficient

There are various plugins for SMF that can prevent spammers from posting, i.e. first 5 posts have to be approved etc etc. Happy to help if required.


