A Shrinking Method

I enjoy most methods of shrinking but I will admit that im a bit of a sucker for the shrinking virus concept. I think it has to deal with the chaos of it. Whether it be the maid or the fortune 500 CEO. If the stars line up then you mind find yourself underfoot. All the possible role reversals that could pop up in a society like that are fun to think on, least for me. Mr.Carls Little Ladies website delved a bit into that concept and that probably what got me hooked.

But shrink ray, magic, teleportation anomalies. As long as there is a person shrinking, I am here for it.

I also like the idea of something really irresponsible, like a phone app that gives people the ability to shrink other. I've been on a kick recently trying to world build for a story where this girl has a tiktok channel where she abuses a shrinking remote or app to shrink girls to insanely small sizes. The fact she is abusing such a readily avaliable technology is part of the thrill there.


By and large, though, the method of shrinking isn't a huge point of contention for me.

Yup, like I said earlier in the thread, for me it doubles down on the loss of control. It's like blushing as a side effect of being embarrassed, can't really control it once it starts. Even better if it's a cycle - being embarrassed leading to shrinking, shrinking leading to more embarrassment, etc.

Yeah I do too. :/ been hard finding time to write. I've been use chatGBT and CharacterAI to help develop some ideas via role play (since it's been a challenge finding human RP partners) but haven't had time to hunker down and write for a while.

I'm with you. Since shrinking is purely fantasy, how they were shrunk is less important than how they cope with situation. It's kinda like apocalypse movies. It's not the apocalypse (natural disaster such as zombie virus, solar radiation burst, volcano, earthquake, meteor or a manmade disaster like lab leak of virus, EMP, nuclear holocaust) it's how the survivors struggle to survive and their interactions with others and their new environment that interests me.

Same as SW. Is it consensual or nonconsensual? Accidental or intentional? Or an LOTG, Jesse Jr. Portal, Jack and the Beanstalk concept? How do the "bigs" and "little" interact? As friends, lovers or are the "littles" to be abused as pets, toys or sex objects? If the interaction is nonconsensual, do the "littles" resist or submit to their antagonists? Did they know each other prior to the shrinking and was the previous relationship good or bad?

If the story involves the shrinking of a normal sized person, the method of shrinking may or may not relate to the prior relationship of the subjects but some stories, such as a story of revenge, jealousy or similar motive, the method should fit with the prior relationship, but doesn't have to. In the German movie, "Help, I've Shrunk My Friends", the "bad bigs" had nothing to do with the shrinking but took advantage of the situation, tormenting the "Littles", who I believe (I don't understand German) were other students they didn't like.

And finally, is the story written as third person, the perspective of the "big", the "little" or both, rotating POVs in each successive chapter?

There are really so many different scenarios to build a story or as I call them, photostories (collages with a short story) from, nearly anything goes, depending on your (the writer or artist) desires.

Yes, that's much more erotic than being naked from the get go, or apearing nude from under a pile of clothing you've shrunk out of (can't abide slow shrinking, yuck!).

Thing is, even when you shrink in whatever you happen to be wearing, the end game is usually predetermined by the relationship the parties have.

Personally I love the tease element involved. In the illustration below for example, the husband may indeed have his little wife (or girlfriend) at the size he adores, but neither take it for granted he will do what he wants with her (although he easily could of course). It's just so much more fun to observe some niceties, and have some teasing little exchanges of conversation..

Gotta agree. Getting where you want to be shouldn't be arrived at in haste, savouring the journey makes it so much better. And as for the method of shrinking your little lady, does it really matter that all that much? (but I'm with you on the slow shrinking idea Sally, I just want to get on with enjoying the result!)

Gotta agree. Getting where you want to be shouldn't be arrived at in haste, savouring the journey makes it so much better. And as for the method of shrinking your little lady, does it really matter that all that much? (but I'm with you on the slow shrinking idea Sally, I just want to get on with enjoying the result!)

Yes I feel the same about methods of shrinking, it being the end result that interests me the most. Though of course I respect the importance of it in a storyline, or as someone's personal fantasy. Each to their own as always.

From what I've experienced with RP the method of shrinking seems less important than the source of shrinking. Most people I've RP'd with insisted that I control the size. Even if it was, like, a biological reaction to an emotion they wanted that emotion to be an external result. They didn't want to control their own size.

I even went so far as to give a partner a button once to see what they'd do. They said they hit the button several times in frustration and nothing happened, eagerly asking me what the consequences would be.

And I think I get that. There's a different sense of agency when someone else can control your size vs when you have control over it.

I'm fond of the tv remote-sized shrink ray or a laboratory arrangement where the shrinkee enters a zone or booth set up in the lab.
