Fairy Hunters

Post by randomguywhosthere » Sat Jun 03, 2023 10:11 pm

Disclaimer: This story takes place in Eltora, a fantasy setting of my own design. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the setting. If there's anything I enjoy, it's going on and on about stuff I've made.
Also, this story contains pixies, fighting, and vore (sort of).

-

Tori awoke in the hollow of a tree, lying against the soft wood in the fetal position. For a moment, she forgot where she was, and how she’d even gotten there. It wasn’t long before she remembered the fire, her wings taking her along the river, fleeing from the burning smoke. She had flown farther from her fairy circle than she had ever gone before. That was days ago now, and she had no idea where she even was anymore.

She felt an emptiness inside her where the circle’s magic should have been. It had probably been destroyed, there was nothing to return to anymore. Tori felt another kind of emptiness, followed by a groaning sound from her middle. Deciding that continuing to wallow in sadness would get her nowhere, she uncurled her body and crawled out into the sunlight.

Tori stood atop a tree branch as her eyes adjusted to the brightness of day, her bare feet sinking into the mossy surface below her. Tori was a pixie, a diminutive humanoid creature standing around 2 and a half inches tall. She had bright green hair that normally flowed elegantly but was now a tangled mess that fell messily down her shoulders.

Despite her disheveled appearance, Tori’s cream-coloured skin still glittered with pixie dust. Her dirty, bark-coloured dress, fashioned from durable leaves and vine-threads was open in the back, allowing her translucent, silver wings to flutter freely.

Tori surveyed the forest around her. The sun had risen a few hours ago. Dew from the previous night’s rain glistened upon the many large (at least compared to her own size) green leaves surrounding her. Listening closely, she could hear birdcalls in the distance along with the rustling of animals through the foliage far down below her. Determining her immediate area to be safe, she set off in search of food.

The pixie dust accumulated in her wings allowed Tori to take flight, though she was unable to do much else in the way of magic. Normally, she would be perfectly safe flying out in the open, as she could simply turn herself invisible and travel unseen by potential predators. Without her magic, however, she needed to be cautious. The berry bushes she occasionally saw down below were now less a quick source of food and more a quick way to get snapped up by a fox or a dire wolf or whatever other unseen threats might be lurking nearby.

Making sure to keep herself hidden high up among the leaves, Tori continued her aimless journey through the unfamiliar woods. She didn’t have a home, and didn’t feel safe anywhere anymore, so why bother staying in one location? Best case scenario, she could find another fairy circle with pixies and satyrs and all the fairy creatures she was familiar with. If not that, then maybe she could find a community of mouse or squirrel-folk that would take her in.

After nearly an hour, Tori spotted a tree with smooth bark, dense foliage, and several palm berries growing near the top of its trunk. Palm berries were a juicy, red and orange fruit that grew up near the treetops, making it perfect for creatures that preferred to stay high up like pixies.

Tori approached the tantalizing berries, her mouth watering at the prospect of finally getting something good to eat.

“Hey! You!” Tori’s fixation was broken by a voice suddenly shouting at her from below. Looking towards its source, she saw a fellow pixie was caught in a net hanging from a nearby branch! Tori’s hunger must’ve clouded her thoughts and prevented her from noticing something that should have been obvious to spot. “Can you help me out of here please?”

“What happened?” Tori asked. The other girl was wearing an outfit similar to her own and her hair was a similar green hue, only cut much shorter. Tori didn’t recognize her, but she was probably from the same circle as herself.

“Those berries were a trap!” the tangled pixie warned. “As soon as I grabbed one, this net exploded out and captured me! I’m so glad you found me before the hunters did!”

“Hunters?” Tori hadn’t even seen a single human or other big-sized person since the fight between humans and satyrs that had started the fire.

“I was fleeing from the fire with someone else, but he was pounced on by a cat-folk, who was part of a larger group hunting for pixies! This trap has to be their doing!”

This was a lot to process. The presence of hunters meant there was likely a human settlement somewhere nearby. The reason Tori hadn’t encountered any communities of tiny-folk like herself was probably because they were rightfully avoiding the humans. The pixies of her circle were unfamiliar with the area, though, which made them prime targets!

“Don’t worry, I’ll get you out of here!” Tori said as she fluttered up higher to get a closer look at the trap. “My name is Tori, by the way.”

“Thanks, Tori,” said the other pixie, who appeared to have calmed down a bit. “My name’s Posy.”

Tori flew up and examined the rope holding up the net. It looked quite sturdy. Tori didn’t have a knife or any sort of sharp implement on her person, maybe she could try biting through it? It was then that she heard Posy gasp.

“Tori, watch out!”

Before she could turn around, Tori heard a buzzing noise like a swarm of bees followed by a thunk of something embedding itself into the tree beside her. Turning around, she could see what appeared to be a huge, ornate spear planted into the side of the tree. Standing atop the spear’s length was a human.

At least, Tori thought it was a human. The person was human-sized, over 20 times Tori’s own height. Their body was entirely concealed by a dark green cloak, brown leather boots and black gloves, with their face covered by a mask painted to resemble the face of some creature Tori didn’t recognize.

There were probably a number of other details Tori hadn’t noticed yet, but at the moment her mind was completely occupied by the terror of her sudden closeness to a much larger creature than herself. Her fight-or-flight instincts took over, and she chose flight. Despite her best efforts, though, she barely made it a few inches before she was snatched out of the air.

A gloved hand clasped around her entire body, and Tori was once again forced to look at her assailant’s masked face, her arms pinned to her sides. Behind the mask, she heard a male voice muttering to himself, though she couldn’t understand the human language. Tori barely uttered a peep herself, paralyzed with fear. Posy was silent as well, maybe hoping she somehow hadn’t been noticed yet. More voices came from below, which caused her captor to glance back, seemingly in panic.

With his free hand, the giant stranger pulled up his mask so that his mouth was visible. Tori realized what was going to happen right before she was thrust forward, through the now parted lips. She screamed briefly but was cut off as her face collided with his tongue. She kicked her legs briefly in an attempt to wiggle herself free, but it was only a moment before the rest of her was shoved inside the wet, dark confines of the human’s mouth.

Tori immediately started squirming, fighting against the slimy tongue as it began to slosh her around. She managed to twist her body around so that she was facing towards the exit and away from the deadly drop at the back of the throat. She tried to crawl back out but was firmly pinned against the roof of the mouth. Saliva pooled around her, soaking through her clothes and causing pixie dust to rub off her body. Her wings were remarkably undamaged, safely tucked behind her back, not that flying was much of a concern right now.

Suddenly, the building liquid rushed away and was swallowed with a loud along with a wad of pixie dust, though Tori remained in place. The whole chamber vibrated with a sound that was practically deafening: the sound of humming. Tori’s fear was supplemented with anger. Her captor was clearly enjoying himself!

**

The pixie in Nonno’s mouth tasted wonderful, and that was terrible. He was salivating uncontrollably and had to swallow regularly to make sure the poor thing didn’t drown. It didn’t help that she was squirming so much against his tongue, drawing out her flavour, why did pixie dust have to taste so damn sweet?

After pulling his mask back down, he drew a dagger from his cloak to cut down the trap containing the other pixie. It was then that a tiny voice emerged from his backpack.

“Was that really necessary?” It was Shanna, who had likely seen that whole interaction.

“Well, we don’t exactly have time right now!” was what Nonno wanted to retort, but with his mouth full it came out instead as “Mmmm mmmm mh, mmhhhh!”

While catching the pixie before they flew away was an important first step, Nonno would normally go through the process of introducing them to his own pixie companion before taking them along with him. However, the rapidly approaching hunters accelerated matters, and Nonno didn’t have any easily accessible pockets. In his panic, stuffing the tiny girl into his mouth seemed like the best option.

With a single clean slice, the small net trap was cut free from the branch. Hanging from Nonno’s closed fist, the pixie inside looked at him with fearful eyes. It was then that his attention was drawn by the approaching voices once again.

“The trap should be on a tree somewhere around this area.” A gruff, older-sounding voice, probably the leader.

“It better have something in it this time!” A second voice. The accent sounded a bit off. A cat-folk, maybe?

“I keep telling you, it’s only a matter of time. Alex’s group caught a whole swarm of the little things just the other day!” The third voice sounded younger. The approaching group was likely close enough for Nonno to see them by now, but he was preoccupied with getting out of there.

“Hey, there’s someone up there messing with the trap!” Damnit.

Sheathing his dagger, Nonno ran the fingertips of his free hand along the length of his spear. On the end opposite of the blade, three sets of large, insect-like wings sprouted forth and started revving up. With a swift kick against the tree trunk, he dislodged the spear from the wood and came gliding down. With his hands full, he couldn’t climb away through the branches, so he’d have to make a run for it. With his winged spear propelling him forward he half ran, half flew through the forest, weaving between the trees at extreme speeds.

“He’s got a pixie!” one of the hunters shouted. “Don’t let him get away!”

“Nonno, one of them’s catching up to us!” Shanna shouted.

Looking behind him, Nonno saw that one of the hunters was indeed gaining on them. He was a blonde cat-folk, with a pair of fuzzy ears protruding from the top of his head and a similarly coloured tail swaying behind him. He wore a brown leather tunic with a dagger strapped to his chest and a bow over his back. His feline body could run at a breakneck pace, easily closing the distance between him and Nonno.

Planting his feet, Nonno spun around and took a swipe at the hunter with his spear. The cat-folk managed to evade the attack before pouncing forward. Using the momentum of his previous swing, Nonno’s spear propelled him safely out of the way. He was quite proficient with his weapon, but only being able to use one hand made things much more difficult.

“Come on, give it here, you masked creep!” the cat-folk snarled as he circled carefully around the edge of Nonno’s reach. “It’s our trap, we caught the fairy, so it belongs to us!”

Nonno spared a glance towards the net in his left hand. The pixie inside was frantically looking back and forth, as if trying to decide who was the better option between Nonno and the other hunter. It was only then that Nonno realized he had been subconsciously sucking on the other pixie in his mouth. He blushed under his mask as he realized what he had been doing. He could feel the almost glittery texture of her body as she squirmed against his pallet, sweet pixie dust filling him with bliss, as well as guilt for the torment he was likely putting the poor girl through.

The cat took advantage of his brief lapse in attention to perform a lunging attack, drawing his dagger and swinging it right at Nonno’s face. Nonno arched himself backwards to dodge, then spun around as his assailant sailed passed him. Spear buzzing at full throttle, he struck the back of cat-man’s head with the blunt end of his weapon, sending him sprawling on the ground.

Any feeling of triumph, however, was interrupted by the distinct feeling of something suddenly getting caught in his throat, and he began to panic.

**

Tori was desperate now. The mouth that surrounded her had been bouncing and shaking a lot, indicating the hunter was moving fast. Maybe Posy had escaped the trap, and he was chasing her? Her whole body was being squeezed tightly against the roof of his mouth while the tasting muscle slowly moved back and forth in a suckling motion around her.

It was her attempt to create some space between her and the tongue, as well as a sudden jerking motion from her captor’s head, that had caused her body to slip to the back of the tongue. In a brief moment of shock at her sudden change in position, Tori’s lower half was lodged into the tight confines of a human’s throat. The throat’s strong muscles squeezed hard, clamping down on her legs and dragging her downwards.

In her new position, the mouth’s grip on Tori’s body greatly lessened, and she could move her head and arms freely again. This proved to be a detriment, however, as she couldn’t seem to get a grip on anything that could slow her descent. Her arms flailed through the wet darkness, failing to get a grip on the fleshy walls around her as she was slowly pulled deeper and deeper.

“Noooo!” Tori cried out towards no one in particular. “Get me out of here!”

Surprisingly, the throat complied. The walls tensed up around her, and a sudden force struck her from below, sending her upward. Seizing this advantage, Tori began scrambling against the tongue, pulling herself up with the help of another jolt from behind.

As soon as she re-entered the mouth, the human’s strong tongue flexed around her body, shoving her past the dangerous row of teeth and to the inside of his cheek. She was pinned firmly against the wet surface, unable to pry herself free. It seemed her captor had tasted his fill, yet he hadn’t eaten her yet. In her current state, Tori could do little more than pout. He seemed to be running, but his movements were much less erratic now.

After some time had passed, the world was filled with light again, shining between the now parted lips. The whole mouth shifted around her, and Tori slid right out.

She landed on the man’s outstretched palm and immediately began wiping saliva from her face. Tori’s vision was still blurry. Coughing, she pulled herself up to a kneeling position while she rubbed her eyes, squinting as everything slowly came back into focus.

The man’s appearance was just as mysterious as ever. His face obscured by his mask and a green cloak hiding the rest of his features. His spear was now slung over his back as well as a backpack he was wearing. He appeared to be talking to someone over his shoulder in the same unfamiliar language he had used before.

Suddenly, Tori spotted something on his shoulder, another pixie! She had lightly tanned skin and bright crimson hair. She wore a tight-fitting dress made from a durable, yet flexible material Tori didn’t recognize, and flourished a set of silky, ruby red wings.

“Are you alright?” she asked, before flying down to join her in the human’s palm. She helped wipe more of the saliva off Tori’s body. “Looks like you aren’t hurt too badly. Your wings are undamaged, but pretty gummed up. Nothing a little bit of fluttering can’t fix.”

The sudden change of environment and the thousands of contradictory thoughts running through Tori’s head left her unable to speak, until a single question bubbled to the surface.

“What is going on!?” She shouted. Her panic-induced numbness ended abruptly, and she began to sob uncontrollably. She was so far away from home, and nothing made sense.

“Oh! Sorry, sorry!” the other pixie said, her voice concerned as she rushed back around to look Tori in the eyes. “Don’t worry, you’re safe now. My name is Shanna,” she gestured up to the human carrying them as he slowly walked through the forest. “And that big guy is Nonno. He saved you from those hunters and their traps.”

“Save!? I was nearly swallowed whole!” Tori exclaimed, though she was starting to calm herself down. If Nonno had any ill will towards her… she probably wouldn’t be breathing fresh air right now.

“Well… a whole bunch of hunters were about to get us and there wasn’t enough time to explain, and it was the first idea that popped into Nonno’s head.” Shanna replied while giving Nonno a glare. He didn’t visibly react.

“Wait, we were being chased?” Tori realized. “Are we still in danger?”

“I wouldn’t worry about those guys. Nonno’s magic spear lets him get around super fast, and he really whopped that one guy who managed to keep up with us. Besides, we’re almost home!” As Shanna finished speaking, Tori realized they had reached the edge of the forest.

Just ahead of them was a building, or a tower? It resembled a windmill, but without the spinning part. Tori could feel some kind of energy coming from within the structure. It was strange, but it almost felt like a fairy circle. As Nonno opened a large wooden door and she and her fellow pixies were carried across the threshold, that senastion grew stronger.

The reason for that feeling quickly became apparent. The building’s first floor consisted of a single large room, and it was filled with pixies! The walls were lined with tiny houses carved from wood and decorated with colourful silk tapestries hanging from ledges and little rope bridges linking the structures together. Within the tiny village, many young pixies playfully flew among the structures, while others were gathered together, weaving clothes, playing music or carrying containers of pixie dust to the upper levels of the huge building. A few of the tiny-folk turned their heads in surprise at seeing someone enter through the main door, but their expressions quickly shifted to recognition and they waved at Nonno, Tori and the rest.

“…wow!” was all Tori could manage.

“I met Nonno a long time ago, and we became friends.” Shanna explained. “Ever since we heard about the fairy circle in the north burning down, we’ve been going out to save as many pixies as we can and bring them here. He wears a mask whenever we’re out so that other humans won’t recognize him if he’s caught.”

Tori pointed towards the pixies carrying boxes. “What do you use those materials for?” she asked. “That’s a lot of pixie dust!”

“Well, it takes a lot of moth silk to make decorations like these, as well as bits of wood and stone for making tools.” Shanna answered. “As for the pixie dust, well, Nonno’s a bit of an alchemist. We deliver all our loose dust to his lab up top, and he makes it into potions he can sell to other humans. He then uses the money to buy all the essentials we need.”

They reached a ledge and Nonno held up his palm, letting them hop off. He then produced a dagger from his cloak and began cutting Posy loose from her net. Once free, she quickly flew up to join Tori and Shanna, visibly relieved this whole ordeal was over.

Now that his hands were free, Nonno removed his mask. Curious, Tori took a long look at his face. He looked way younger than she had expected. He didn’t have any facial hair, or scars, or wrinkles, or anything she had expected to see behind the mask. He had emerald green eyes and short, light-brown hair that was surprisingly neat, considering all the running and jumping around he had been doing.

Eventually her gaze was drawn towards his mouth. How could it not be, considering how much time she had spent inside it. Now that it was readily apparent that he wasn’t hostile, Tori was quite confused as to how she should feel about the whole experience.

“I’ll introduce you to the others,” said Shanna. “We can show you around the tower after, well, after we get you cleaned up, and maybe some new clothes.” She gestured to Tori’s still-damp body. Tori blushed, though she wasn’t quite sure why.

**

Nonno climbed up the tower steps. Unlike the first floor, the second floor had multiple rooms. The stairs were in the smaller of two rooms, with a door leading to Nonno’s bedroom and a second set of stairs continuing up to the third floor, which served as a kitchen, dining room and alchemy lab.

Nonno pushed open the door to his room. It was a fairly modest chamber, taking up most of the second floor. He removed his cloak and hung it on a small coatrack by the door, setting his spear against the side of his wardrobe. He was lightly dressed in a simple beige shirt and tan leather work pants. Any more than that, and he’d be sweating himself to death whenever he went out.

Just as he was beginning to relax, setting himself down on the side of his bed, Nonno heard the distinct flutter of a pixie entering his room from the lower level. Looking towards his shelves, he saw a girl entering through a tiny door set in the wall. She had bright green hair that flowed elegantly down her shoulders and was wearing a similarly coloured green dress. She spread her elegant, glittering wings and took flight through the room towards him. She hovered just in front of him, her expression and demeanor betraying her nervousness.

“Oh, hello there!” he said in a friendly tone, recognizing the newcomer. What did Shanna say her name was again? “You must be Tori, right?”

She couldn’t understand him, of course. Shanna was the only pixie he knew who was fluent in both Common, the language of humans, and Sylvan, the language of fairies. The silence between them was quickly becoming awkward.

“Um, I’m sorry about earlier,” was all Nonno thought to say. He was getting kind of nervous. Was she mad at him? That would be understandable. “I was sort of panicking back there.”

Tori didn’t say anything. Instead, after a moment, she flew forward and pressed her tiny body against his chest, her arms spread out in as best a hug as she could manage. Surprised, Nonno reached down and gently placed his hand over her lower back, allowing her to hold her position while resting her tired wings.

“It’s alright, you’re safe now,” he reassured her.

As an alchemist, having pixies or any other magical creature under his care was of great benefit to him, but that wasn’t why he went through all this trouble. He did this because he knew within his soul that it was the right thing to do.

“I’ll protect as many of you as I can,” said Nonno. “I promise.”

I am very happy to hear that :D

I actually already posted 2 other stories in the VSW category if you're interested. Of course, things don't go so well for the tinies in those stories.
