Excellent choice! Now let’s see if she gets captured in this movie!

Nice !
I don't think there will be any actual shrinking process in the movie (has there ever been, in that story/universe?), but that tiny Tinkerbell would be really fun indeed.

Trailer:

Looks like we're getting at least a few good scenes, including a handheld...
PS: Also, why are all movies / media so DARK these days!? We can't see anything.

Re: Tinkerbell casted for live-action 'Peter Pan and Wendy' movie
And to the surprise of nobody, people are complaining that they made her black. Like, I'll admit it was a missed opportunity to bring back Iridessa from the Disney Fairies films (those movies were kinda underrated, BTW), but like... she's a FAIRY! SHE'S NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE REAL! Is it REALLY that big of a deal?
Plus, you don't see much SW content with Black ladies anyways, and I think that should change...

Because no one would complain if they made a black character white.chocolatejr9 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 11:08 pmAnd to the surprise of nobody, people are complaining that they made her black.

If you hadn't said so I wouldn't have known. Either way I certainly don't care (and I suspect neither does anyone else on the message board).chocolatejr9 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 11:08 pmAnd to the surprise of nobody, people are complaining that they made her black.

I want to see a full-body close-up of her in that costume.

I will not be watching it or anything else made by Disney anymore. Especially after what they did to Star Wars and the Marvel Universe. Rogue One and the Mandalorian were the only ones that were good. Not because of the Black Tinker Bell.

What's next, Disney getting a white person to play Tiana? Christ that would be dumb. If that happens that would be a laugh.

What about a non-existent supernatural fairy necessitates them being white?
You might want to use a napkin, you have a little racism stuck on your chin from where it just dribbled out.

Tiana is based on a real person and her being black is important to the story…. Fairies aren’t real nor are they even human. Just say you’re racistKrakenLeach wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 4:35 amWhat's next, Disney getting a white person to play Tiana? Christ that would be dumb. If that happens that would be a laugh.

Re: Tinkerbell casted for live-action 'Peter Pan and Wendy' movie
I can understand some fans being disappointed at the casting of Tinker Bell, in that it breaks from tradition. She being regularly portrayed in the past as a cute little blonde. So let's not jump to the conclusion that someone is racially motivated, if they aren't happy about the change.
Personally I don't think it matters a jot about her being black, because I've always considered fairies to be a non-ethnic entity anyway. But I can understand why the choice was made because of the way the world has moved over the years, and a company like Disney has to move with the times. We should be getting used to these things by now, and recent movies (not least in the superhero genre) have also moved in that direction. The bottom line will be when we see it is, was it a good film to watch or not. Right?
Digressing slightly. We don't seem to have much black representation in the work of our own community. I've often tried to find good black hand stock to use in collages, but without much success. So if anyone knows a source, or is perhaps willing to provide images of their own hands, let me know by PM.
It would be nice if we could be more ethnically represented.

A much younger Yara Shahidi appeared as the little girl who plays with the shrunken Alex on the old Wizards of Waverly place shrinking episode, so it's pretty cool to have her grow up to be tiny herself.

That works well enough Doc. Good perspective too.
Trouble is, at the sw size scale I prefer it's difficult to find (black or Afro American) hand poses to use in a handheld. I have a large selection of white hand shapes to call upon of course, so I've habitually used those, but I'll keep looking.

That's the same girl? I had no idea of who it was, just the angle of the shot and the look on her face made me add it to my photo depot.

Traditionally she was a spot light on a wall in a theater. She has only been a blonde humanoid in Disney tradition. Remember Julia Roberts played her in Hook as a brunette.Little Sally wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 10:29 amI can understand some fans being disappointed at the casting of Tinker Bell, in that it breaks from tradition. Thank you Bob I wasn't aware of that. But I think most people who aren't complete nerds on the subject think of her as a little (animated film) blonde.Bobascher wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 1:08 amTraditionally she was a spot light on a wall in a theater. I think most people who aren’t completely trying to be rosy on the matter realize that those complaining don’t care about her hair as much as her skin. See all the complaints about Halle Berry playing Ariel with red hair.Little Sally wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 9:25 amThank you Bob I wasn't aware of that. And yes, I will take “complete nerd” as a compliment.
